INTRODUCTION TO DANCE
804 Dance Place's Introduction to Dance classes are offered in limited-class sessions through Hanover County Parks & Recreation, or as year-long classes, giving students their first performance experiences in the 804 Gala. Creative Movement classes are designed for 3-5 year-old dancers. Classes provide noncompetitive creative experiences which emphasize growth in kinesthetic awareness, social interaction, concentration, self-esteem, basic physical technique and creative expression. Tutu classes for 6 and 7 year-olds are the final step in the INTRODUCTION TO DANCE program. Tutu classes are offered in Ballet, Jazz and Tap. The Tutu curriculum focuses on the technical foundations which will inform a student’s advanced training. Tutu students start to learn longer pieces of choreography, and the structure of class begins to look more like a traditional technique class. |
